How should today’s thesaurus earn its keep?
Since the IR thesaurus was conceived and launched over fifty years ago, the context of its use has changed out of all recognition. In view of its waning popularity, Stella Dextre Clarke addressed the question of whether and in what situations the thesaurus still has a role. She looked into how to overcome some challenges for design, development and implementation of a functional, cost-effective thesaurus today.
The class was delivered via Zoom and was attended by 85 participants from 23 countries. Presentation slides are available to all participants via the KO-ED forum on the ISKO UK website.
