We are delighted to announce a special call for posters for the ISKO UK 2019 Biennial Conference. We have a full agenda of papers for the conference programme and we see posters as an important complement to the formal papers and the IKO case study café.
This is a great opportunity for post-graduate students who want to share the results of their research, as well as for experienced researchers to test initial research ideas or to share their experience of research in progress. We also welcome posters from practitioners trying out new approaches to knowledge organization in their workplaces.
The posters will be displayed in a common area that will be open to delegates throughout the two days of the conference. Each person with a poster will also be able to give a short presentation at the conference and an abstract of the poster will be published in the conference proceedings. Successful poster abstracts can only be included in the conference proceedings if the abstract is received before 15th May 2019. Any abstracts not received by 15th May 2019 will not be included in the proceedings. As only the abstract will be published, there will still be time for successful applicants to work up their posters for display, ready for the conference itself on 15th and 16th July.
We especially welcome poster contributions from students and encourage this medium as a forum for sharing initial ideas or speculative approaches to the subject. Criteria for acceptance include originality, clarity of expression, and relevance to the conference theme. Proposals should have a sound basis in historical fact, knowledge organization theory, or current practice.
If you wish to submit a poster, please provide an abstract in English of 300 - 500 words (including references). To make the submission send an email to email@example.com using “Poster” and then the name of your project as the subject line. The closing date for the submission of poster abstracts or proposals is Friday 26th April 2019.
We will let you know by Friday 3rd May 2019 whether your proposal has been accepted. Posters should be submitted as pdf so that they can be published on the ISKO UK website. Full posters should be A0 size. Any queries regarding the submission of abstracts should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please use “Poster” and then the name of your project in the subject line of your message.
