Storyline ontology

In 2013 the BBC collaborated with a national newspaper, a wire service and a web search company on an open data model for storytelling in News. Over the past six months we have been testing this model in the newsroom with live data, working alongside journalists. In 2014 the BBC will begin to publish dynamic aggregations of news content linked up by the storyline data model. In this talk Jeremy will define the storyline ontology in some detail and look at how the BBC plans to implement it on its news website. Additionally he will talk about the model’s wider application within the newsroom as a news gathering and research tool, and finally its wider application across BBC content such as sport and programmes.
