The network connection

The information network is an integral, constitutive element of the network society and economy: it both serves and shapes the networked world. The most significant implication for those implementing Knowledge Management environments is the shift from providing intelligence for supporting well-bounded business processes, to supporting changes in user behaviours in dynamic contexts. In this talk it is proposed that contemporary socio economic systems are better represented as complex adaptive systems (CAS), with their network structure enabling them to self-organize in response to contextual perturbations. This implies a significant shift in the established thinking about organizational resilience and robustness and may influence the way we approach information risk.
