2017 Conference Venue

Canada Water Library & Culture Space

21 Surrey Quays Road
London, SE16 7AR

The ISKO 2017 Conference will be held at the Culture Space within the Canada Water Library. This complex is part of a large urban renovation project in the former Surrey Commercial Docks in South East London, once occupied by wharves and warehouses for the timber trade. The building, designed by the architect Piers Gough was completed in 2011. It has the shape of an inverted pyramid overhanging Canada Water, a freshwater lake and wildlife refuge. The library incorporates excellent cultural and community facilities, including a 150 - seat auditorium, several meeting rooms and an onsite Culture Café. It is very close to Canada Water Station (underground/overground and bus station) which is located in zone 2 of public transport and can be easily reached from central London.

On the opposite side of the square outside our venue is Leadbelly's Bar & Kitchen, where our participants and all ISKO members are invited to meet up from 19:00 on the evening before the conference.
