In 2007 ISKO UK will hold a series of open meetings under the broad title KOnnecting KOmmunities. The meetings will explore the broad horizons within which knowledge organization concepts and techniques are employed and will hope to kick-start the process of building bridges among the many fragmented knowledge organization communities.
The venue of the evening meetings is University College London. Attendance is free.
These events are aimed at all those concerned, practically or theoretically, with any aspect of knowledge organization, to explore topics of common interest such as: metadata, taxonomies, classification schemes, thesauri, ontologies, information integration, interoperability and discovery, content management, records management etc.. Please come along and tell your story, share your experiences and compare notes. You will be welcome whatever your discipline or job title, and irrespective of the commercial, industrial or academic sector you work in.
While the majority of meetings will be held on the initiative of ISKO UK members, we would like to invite all those based in the UK to join and participate in proposing, organizing or sponsoring these events.
